Europe for Citizens Programme is one of the four programmes developed by the General Directorate Education and Culture from the European Commission which has as aim to promote the active European citizenship through the involvement of the civil society in building a united Europe, based on its historical values and the remembrance of a common past, on the deepening of the intercultural dialogue and on concepts as tolerance, solidarity, democracy, equality of chances and mutual understanding.
The general objective of the programme is to grant to all European citizens the opportunity to know each other, to interact and to carry out common projects, in order to consolidate the idea of belonging at the Community’s area.
Europe for Citizens Point (ECP) is hosted by the Consultancy Centre for European Cultural Programmes and has the role:
- to provide to the possible beneficiaries information on the Programme and its financing actions;
- to provide to the potential beneficiaries precise information concerning the deadlines for the applications;
- to offer, upon request, advice for the complete and correct drawing of the project’s file, according to the demands of the financing authority (European Commission);
- to offer solutions for finding partners from other European countries that might associate in carrying out a project.

Neighbours’ Day is coming soon! Get ready for Tuesday, 26th may !
The theme of this year’s Neighbours’ Day will be European citizenship.
9 million people will share a moment with their neighbours to get to know each other better in a friendly atmosphere. This year Neighbours’ day celebrations will take place in 29 countries worldwide, including 20 EU countries.
More than 1 100 city councils and housing associations will mark the day!
New countries :
Should it be in Cyprus (Nicosia, Pano Lefkara) or in Bosnia Herzegovina (Mostar), Neighbours’ Day gives the opportunity to renew bonds of friendship.

European Neighbours’ Day award ceremony :
Since 2004, around 80 towns, cities and social housing associations have been awarded by Atanase Perifan, President of the European Federation of Local Solidarity with the "European Neighbours’ Day" diploma.
